Dahlia Millington and her son opened up Unglued Foods to provide gluten-free food to those in Metro Vancouver.

A mom-and-son duo opened a Richmond-based online gluten-free food store to give people in the Greater Vancouver Area who cannot have gluten foods more options.

Dahlia Millington and Malachite Miller opened Unglued Foods to make finding food safe and easy for people with celiac disease, gluten intolerance and gluten sensitivity.

“It’s a point of safety for those with celiac disease,” said Millington.

“We want people to feel a sense of safety and ease when they are shopping with us.”

She added that being in a rush and shopping for safe products in a store can be "stressful and exhausting."

The mother and son moved from the Okanagan to the Lower Mainland to open a specialty food store to understand more about what challenges people with celiac disease face.

"As a vegetarian who also doesn’t eat onions or garlic, I could relate to how hard it is to have to stand in the aisle and read every single ingredient on every single label,” said Millington Dahlia.

“We wanted to create something that could lift that hardship.”

While there is no in-store shopping at the moment, there is free pick-up at the Unglued Foods' Richmond warehouse location or $10-next day delivery throughout Greater Vancouver.
