Four Richmond businesses and individuals were recognized at Tourism Richmond's EPIC awards ceremony on Sunday.
EPIC is an acronym from the words excellence, passion, integrity and collaboration.
The excellence award for innovation went to Athiana Acres, a 30-acre organic farm located in Steveston that grows produce and offers guided tours, according to a Dec. 2 release from Tourism Richmond.
The passion award for individual achievement was given to Chloe Kim of Versante Hotel for its service, while the integrity award for community participation was granted to The Sharing Farm Society for its contributions to food banks.
The collaboration award for successful partnerships was given to the Steveston Waterfront Hotel for promoting local businesses. Some of these initiatives included their Brews n’ Bikes package, consisting of complimentary bike rentals and a gift card to Britannia Brewing Co.
“These awards are a great way to bring everyone together,” said Tourism Richmond CEO Nancy Small in the release, explaining these awards serve to celebrate the industry and give thanks to the community.
The award winners were selected by a panel of people involved in Richmond’s tourism industry.
The event was held at the Westin Wall Centre more than 200 people in attendance.
