A Richmond hotel has made it to a list of accommodations dubbed the best in the world.
Versante Hotel was one of 20 hotels in Canada to be awarded the title of Travellers' Choice Awards Best of the Best Hotels on Tripadvisor.
The title is given to hotels that receive a "high-volume of above-and-beyond" reviews and opinions from Tripadvisor users over a 12-month period.
The hotel's luxury amenities, including a heated rooftop pool, contemporary art, technology enhancements and food and beverage options for guests earned them a spot on the list.
Out of eight million listings, fewer than one per cent achieve this milestone, according to Tripadvisor's website.
Other B.C. hotels on the list include Wedgewood Hotel and Spa, Paradox Hotel Vancouver, Shangri-La Vancouver, Fairmont Pacific Rim, Four Seasons Resort Whistler and Wickaninnish Inn.
Versante was recently put up for a court-ordered sale after its owners defaulted on an $80-million loan.
