16 new COVID-19 cases in Richmond

There have been 16 new COVID-19 cases detected in Richmond in the past week (Sept. 24 to Oct. 1), bringing the total to 271 since the start of the pandemic.

Between Jan. 1 and Oct. 1, 2020, Richmond has seen 271 cases of COVID-19.

There have been 16 new COVID-19 cases detected in Richmond in the past week (Sept. 24 to Oct. 1), bringing the total to 271 since the start of the pandemic.

This is the lowest weekly total in Richmond in recent weeks – after case numbers crept up to double digits at the end of August – and follows the previous week’s (Sept. 17 to Sept. 24) record high of 36 cases.

However, new case numbers continue to be high across B.C., with the province reporting 161 cases Friday.

In total, there are currently 1,302 active cases in B.C. Sixty-three people are in hospital, with 16 in intensive care.

Richmond residents can get tested for COVID-19 at the Richmond Assessment Centre at 6820 Gilbert Rd., in the parking lot of the tennis club.
