Richmond RCMP has now appealed for dashcam footage and are warning motorists to steer clear of Westminster Highway and No. 4 Road for the rest of Tuesday.
The fatality happened at the aforementioned intersection around 9 a.m. this morning when a blue Kenworth truck collided with a white BMW sedan.
According to police, one person was pronounced dead at the scene and three others were taken to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
Police said that the person who died was one of the passengers in the BMW.
There were also live fish strewn across the intersection as a result of the collision.
Drugs and alcohol, say police, do not appear to have been factors, however, speed and driver inattention have not yet been ruled out.
The tragic loss of life follows a fatal collision shortly before 4 p.m. on Monday, when a grey Honda CRV collided with a school bus on Alderbridge Way at No. 3 Road.
The driver of the CRV was pronounced dead at the scene, while the school bus driver was apparently uninjured and remained on scene.
Fortunately, there were no children on board the school bus at the time of the collision.
Police are not releasing the names of the deceased at this time.
“These very serious collisions serve as a reminder to all drivers," said Richmond RCMP's Cpl. Ian Henderson.
"Vehicle collisions occur with more frequency this time of year, as fall and winter weather begin to affect drivers’ perceptions.
"Good driving habits, like slowing down and paying attention to other drivers and pedestrians at intersections, can help prevent accidents like these from occurring.”

The News reported earlier how passing cyclist Steve Fairbairn said a truck carrying live fish appeared to have overturned and spilled fish all over the area.
