Vancouver Coastal Health is warning of a possible COVID-19 exposure at a Richmond elementary school.
The possible exposure occurred at Gilmore elementary on Dec. 4 and Dec. 7, according to VCH, which has listed the school on its exposures webpage.
A school “exposure” is when someone with the virus was at the school during their infectious period, according to VCH’s website, which adds that, “in the vast majority of cases, there is no transmission in the school setting.”
The health authority will post possible school exposures on its website when they feel that everyone who might have been exposed to the virus couldn’t be contacted directly.
There have also been exposures recently at Thomas Kidd elementary (Nov. 30, Dec. 1 and Dec. 3); McRoberts secondary (Dec. 1 to 2 and Dec. 4); William Bridge elementary (Nov. 30); Maple Lane elementary (Nov. 20, Nov. 24 to 25 and Dec. 1); Richmond Secondary (Nov. 24 to 27); Burnett secondary (Nov. 24 to 26); McNair secondary (Nov. 19 and Nov. 24 to 27); Hugh Boyd secondary (Nov. 25 to 26 and Nov. 30); and Steveston-London secondary (Nov. 24 to 25).
