A house in East Richmond's Hamilton neighbourhood was on fire on Tuesday evening.
Richmond-Fire Rescue crew responded to a first alarm structure fire on Westminster Highway near Willet Drive around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22.
Grant Wyenberg, assistant deputy chief of Richmond Fire-Rescue, said when the first crew arrived, smoke and fire were seen coming from the back of the house where the laundry area is located.
The area was quickly extinguished.
"Fire crews had overhauled some of the surrounding structure to asses for fire extension," explained Wyenberg.
No injuries to staff or the public were reported.
A fire investigator went to the home on Tuesday evening, but the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
Richmond Fire-Rescue told the Richmond News the residents of the home have made "alternate living arrangements for the time being."
