Another Richmond school is reporting a COVID-19 exposure.
An exposure occurred at Homma elementary on Feb. 19, according to Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), which has added the school to its online list of coronavirus exposures in the region’s schools.
A school exposure occurs when someone with COVID-19 was present in the school during their infectious period, according to the health authority.
At Wednesday’s school board meeting, Richmond school district superintendent Scott Robinson said the district is currently seeing about two to four exposures per week. Exposures in the district peaked in about mid-November, when there were about 15 school exposures in a week.
Robinson also noted that, while there have been exposures, there have been no known transmissions of COVID-19 in Richmond schools so far.
Other recent school exposures in Richmond, listed by VCH, include: Grauer elementary (Feb. 5 and Feb. 9 to 11; McRoberts secondary (Feb. 10 to 11); Steveston-London secondary (Feb. 1, Feb. 3 and Feb. 10) and Whiteside elementary (Feb. 10 to 11).
