A dangerous and high-risk sexual offender has been arrested after a tip off from the public.
On Tuesday, Richmond RCMP issued a plea for help in finding Shawn George James Mcwilliams, who police referred to as a domestic violence offender.
He was wanted in connection with a whole host of warrants, including 19 counts of breaching court ordered conditions, as well as two counts of assault with a weapon, six counts of assault, two counts of pointing a firearm, forcible confinement, uttering threats, anal intercourse, sexual assault, sexual assault with a weapon and kidnapping.
But following a Crime Stoppers tip, Mcwilliams was arrested Tuesday evening without incident in the 1800 block of Commercial Drive by officers from the Vancouver Police Department. Mcwilliams attended court on Wednesday morning in Surrey.
