The exhibition will run until the end of the month.

Well-established and emerging artists will be shown side-by-side at Richmond Art Gallery this month.

The juried show of local artists-only will feature a wide range of mediums and artistic styles, explained Andrew Wade, executive director of Richmond Art Coalition, host of the exhibit.

“I was thrilled by the diversity of their artwork. Our art jury chose everything from sculptures, to 3D printed models, to paintings,” said Wade.

Wade said he also looks forward to hearing the conversations the new works will spawn.

At last week’s opening, he saw one of their youth board members interacting with artists and audience members, discussing how the artwork was shaped, designed and the meaning behind it.

This is the fourth exhibit hosted by the Richmond Art Coalition in partnership with the Richmond Art Gallery, but never before had it received so many entries, said Wade.

The jury had to choose 50 works from a total of 323 creations, submitted by 172 artists.

The coalition will also have a People’s Choice Awards; results from it will be announced in the Richmond News in early January 2022.

The exhibition runs until the end of the month.
