Richmond RCMP is investigating human remains that were found in East Richmond's Hamilton neighbourhood on Thursday evening.
Several police vehicles and two Richmond Fire-Rescue trucks were seen around 7 p.m. on July 11.
Westbound Gilley Road from Westminster Highway to the Parc Gilley complex was blocked off by yellow tape with several vehicles and pedestrians being turned away at the time.
A video submitted by Richmond News reader Charmaine Visperas Magno shows individuals in protective gear being hosed down behind the taped area.
Staff Sgt. Gurbir Mondair, spokesperson for Richmond RCMP, told the News that foul play is not suspected at this time and that there are no public safety concerns.
The area was cleared out by 10 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
