ICBC is expanding its testing locations across the Lower Mainland, including in Richmond, as it prepares to book new road tests starting Monday (Aug. 24).

The insurance corporation is also adding up to 100 temporary driver examiners, and says the measures will help reduce road test wait times.

Starting in September, customers will be able to book their Class 5 or Class 7 road test appointment at the ICBC Claim Centre at 7200 Elmbridge Way.

ICBC estimates testing will be available at that location starting Sept. 8

“These temporary measures will help ICBC complete road tests that were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as meet the demand for new road test appointments,” reads a release from ICBC.

The remaining new test locations are in the Lower Mainland and Southern Vancouver Island due to “geographical demands,” according to ICBC.
