Dear Editor,
Re: “Keep election integrity,” Letters, March 2.
I am not a psychologist or psychiatrist so I can only guess at the reasons why some people have a desire to control the lives and impose their beliefs and agendas on other people (despots, dictators, totalitarian regimes, fascists, religious fanatics, etc.).
But I suspect that issues such as negative childhood experiences, low I.Q.s, fear, alienation and ressentiment (repressed feelings of envy and hatred towards those who know more than they do) play a role in making the idea of having power over other people attractive to them.
Given Richmond’s demographics, the CCP’s goal of gaining as much control of the world’s political systems and economies as possible, and the open travel between Canada and China, it seems reasonable to assume that the CCP would view Richmond as a viable staging area for attending to the agenda of exerting influence over Richmond’s and Canada’s political, economic, development and educational systems and processes.
In light of the growing evidence of the existence of CCP “police stations” in Canada (Richmond included), and their ongoing interference in Canada’s municipal, provincial and federal governmental affairs (CSIS and Australian Intelligence reports), we in Richmond should ask what, if anything, would happen to any of our council and/or school board members if it was found that they were beneficiaries of financial support from and/or had direct connections with the CCP party.
Would there be consequences for such affiliations or would we simply resign ourselves to such things being part of our impotent acquiescence to being manipulated like an inconsequential country of 35 million that is powerless to do anything to protect itself from a totalitarian society of one billion, 350 million people?
It would be safe to assume that the CCP views the situation, and us, in that light.
