Man with knife prompts Richmond RCMP response

Police say there is no risk to the public after an incident Sunday night west of King George Park.

A large police presence was reported on social media in the King George/Cambie neighbourhood of Richmond Sunday night.

Richmond RCMP said they received a report that a man with a knife was in the area of Dallyn and Thorpe roads around 8 p.m.

A suspect was identified and the investigation of the Aug. 18 incident is on-going, according to Richmond RCMP Staff Sgt. Gurbir Mondair.

Currently, there is no risk to the public, he added.
