Drivers can expect nighttime lane closures for the next two months on Steveston Highway over Highway 99 as the second half of the new overpass is built.
Starting Thursday, March 6, there will be periodic single-lane alternating traffic in March and April during overnight periods due to work on ground improvements and road grading on the east side of the overpass.
Some lanes east of Highway 99 may be unpaved while the road is being graded, according to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
There will be no impact to traffic on Highway 99 and the Highway 99 bus stop. The overpass sidewalk will remain open.
“Every effort will be made to minimize delays, while this work is completed,” the ministry said in a press release. “Please follow road signs and direction from traffic crews.”
The northbound loop ramp will remain closed during this second phase of the Steveston Interchange Project.
