While some parts of Metro Vancouver were under a snowfall warning Monday morning, Richmond’s forecast mostly calls for rain.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for portions of the region, including Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, North Vancouver and West Vancouver, as well as the Fraser Valley.

“Over the North Shore and the northeast sections of Metro Vancouver, wet snow will taper off to a few rain showers or flurries before Tuesday morning with an accumulation of 5 cm over higher terrain,” Environment Canada says in its snowfall warning.

By Wednesday, sunnier skies are expected, with a high of 9 C and a low of 2 C overnight.

By Thursday, the rain is expected to return but a sunny weekend is currently in the forecast for Thursday through Sunday.
