A Richmond car rental business near Capstan Way and River Road appeared to have been engulfed in a fire on Saturday.
When a Richmond News reporter arrived at the scene at Carboy Motors at 8100 Capstan Way around 1 p.m., the fire had been extinguished and two police cars and a number of policemen were present. The area was blocked off to the public.
The building’s exterior were charred black and showed holes. Doors and windows had been damaged, and parts of the building had buckled. Smoke could be smelt near the building.
A man at the site who claimed to be the business operator turned down the News’ interview request.
It is unclear when and how the incident happened and whether anyone is injured.
The News has requested more information about the fire from Richmond RCMP and will update the story once more information is released.
