Richmond FC U18 girls capped off their youth soccer career by taking the BC Soccer Provincial B Championships in Burnaby.
The girls beat Prospect Lake of Victoria in the gold medal game to clinch the title.
RFC’s U13 girls were also competing at the championships and managed to finish fourth.
Both teams are coached by Bryan Wevers and Lee Howarth and assisted by Steve Howitt.
All the girls that graduate from RFC’s girls program can apply for a $5,000 scholarship given by Wevers, who has already donated more than $50,000 in scholarships to his winning U18 girls team.
According to RFC, Wevers, and his wife Heidi, do this to promote secondary education for young women.
