Richmond RCMP is investigating an alleged indecent act that happened in the Broadmoor neighbourhood earlier this month.
Officers responded to a call on Nov. 6 of an alleged indecent act in the 10200-block of Buttermere Drive, near Maple Lane elementary.
According to the victim, she had gotten off a bus near No. 3 Road and Goldstream Drive and was walking westbound towards the elementary school near Alouette Drive and Tweedsmuir Avenue when she noticed a man following her.
The man then continued to follow her in the area of Buttermere and Bamberton drives where he allegedly exposed his genitals to the victim.
"The victim was able to leave the area and reported the incident to police," said Cpl. Adriana O'Malley, media relations officer at Richmond RCMP.
"Richmond frontline officers attended but the man had already left the area."
Surveillance video captured the suspect walking past a home.
The suspect is described as a fair-skinned male in his early 20s and is five foot eight inches tall.
He was wearing a black hooded jacket with an "Essential" logo on the back, black pants and white shoes.
The case is active and ongoing. Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212 and quote file number 2024-35263.
