Richmond RCMP seek witness in alleged bus shelter arson

Richmond RCMP is asking for witnesses to step forward regarding a bus shelter that was set on fire last week.

Richmond RCMP is investigating an alleged arson to a bus shelter on Oct. 29.

Richmond RCMP is asking for witnesses who may have seen a bus shelter being set on fire last week.

RCMP officers responded to a report of a bus shelter "fully engulfed in flames" at Railway Avenue and Woodwards Road around 2:40 a.m. on Oct. 29.

Richmond Fire-Rescue extinguished the fire before RCMP arrived on the scene.

After the fire was put out, officers found extensive fire damage to the bench and overhead shelter.

Richmond RCMP is asking anyone who was in the area between 2 and 2:45 a.m. and may have witnessed events leading up to the alleged arson of the bus shelter or have dashcam footage to contact the police.
