Richmond RCMP seek witness in teenage pedestrian collision

Richmond RCMP's criminal collision investigation and collision analysis and reconstruction teams were on scene for a pedestrian collision.

Richmond RCMP is looking for witnesses to a collision involving a teenage pedestrian.

Police officers responded to the collision shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 10 in the 6100 block of River Road, near the Richmond Olympic Oval, where a gray Dodge Charger struck a teenage pedestrian.

The vehicle was travelling eastbound on River Road when it hit the pedestrian, who was crossing mid-block.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with significant injuries and remains in critical condition.

The driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with the police.

Richmond RCMP Criminal Collision Investigative and Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service teams were also on scene.

Impairment is believed to not be a factor in the collision.

Any witnesses or dash cam footage from anyone in the area of River Road, between No. 2 and Gilbert roads, between 4:10 and 4:40 p.m. are asked to come forward.
