Richmond RCMP seeking witnesses to life-threatening motorcycle accident

A motorcycle accident happened near Blundell Road and Minoru Boulevard on Friday afternoon.

Police are looking into a motorcycle accident that left Blundell Road closed for most of last Friday afternoon.

Richmond RCMP received reports of the crash, which happened near Minoru Boulevard, shortly after 4 p.m. on Sept. 1.

The 63-year-old motorcyclist is a Richmond resident and was found “some distance away from his blue Honda,” according to Cpl. Dennis Hwang, Richmond RCMP spokesperson.

He was sent to the hospital with “life-threatening injuries” after receiving emergency care at the scene.

The affected stretch of Blundell Road between Moffat and No. 3 Roads was closed for police investigation from 4 p.m. until just before 2 a.m. on Saturday morning.

The Richmond RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) have taken conduct of the investigation.

“Alcohol or speed are not believed to be factors in this investigation,” said Hwang.
