Richmond RCMP are warning drivers to clear their vehicles of ice and snow before driving or risk fines.
RCMP posted the warning on X on Sunday morning, saying the police officers are out "conducting enforcement" after this winter's first blast of snow hit the region.
They noted it's the "legal responsibility" of drivers to clear their vehicles of ice and snow and warn of a $109 fine for violations.
"Save yourself a $109 ticket and help us keep all road users safe."
Snow is also falling Vancouver International Airport. The airport said on X teams are "working hard on the airfield to keep people and planes moving safely and efficiently."
They're asking travellers to check on the status of flights before coming to the airport "and give yourself extra time to get here safely.
Snow is expected to continue falling throughout the day with temperatures hovering around the zero mark, according to Weatherhood.
