Richmond remains among the top 10 most expensive cities across the country for renters.
According to the latest national rental report from Rentals.ca and Bullpen Research & Consulting, the average monthly rent for a one-bedroom home in Richmond was $1,679 in March, making the city the eighth most-expensive in the country for rentals of that type.
Meanwhile, Richmond is the sixth most expensive in Canada when it comes to two-bedroom homes, with an average monthly rent of $2,083.
Month-over-month, the average rent in Richmond was up 2.6 per cent for a one-bedroom and 3.6 per cent for a two-bedroom, according to the report.
Vancouver took the No. 1 spot on the list of Canadian cities in March, with average monthly rents of $1,932 and $2,598, respectively.
Country-wide, the average asking rent for all Canadian properties listed in March on Rentals.ca was $1,685 per month, down $157 from March 2020.
