A Richmond resident was so excited about winning almost $50,000 in a scratch-and-win, she could hardly sign the back of her ticket.
Apissaporn Thongphaitoon won $49,999 playing a Royal Riches Scratch & Win ticket that she bought at Richmond Centre.
She went home to scratch the ticket, and then noticed her good fortune, realizing it could help with her son’s education.
“I was very excited… my hands were shaking so much that I had to wait a while before I could even sign the back of my ticket,” she recalled of the moment she found out she won.
Thongphaitoon plans to put some of her BC Lottery Corporation prize away for her son’s education and will invest some as well.
“It feels so good,” she said.
