Richmond speed skater Quirin Teh made quite an impression at the recent Calgary Oval Skate Tec Western Elite Circuit (WEC).

The Richmond Rockets team member won all of his heats and finals in the 1,000m, 777m and 500m races.

Quirin also won all the heats of the 1,500m before finishing third in the final after having to go wide to avoid a crash in a race that he was fancied to win.

The WEC draws athletes from all over country to compete at the highest level of the sport.

Quirin also won gold at the recent BC Short Track Championships in the U14 male category and will be one of six Rockets heading to the nationals in Selkirk, Manitoba on March 26-27.
