Property tax bills are due in early July.

The 2024 property taxes in Richmond are due on July 2.

Property owners can make payments online or in-person through their financial institution, online by credit card through the city's website or by mailing a cheque.

Cash is no longer accepted at city hall. The city is warning all property owners not to send cash in the mail or drop off cash at the city hall drop box.

In-person payments at city hall can be done during business hours, which are Monday to Friday from 8:15 p.m. to 5 p.m.

However, city hall will be closed on Monday, July 1 for Canada Day.

If taxes that are not paid or grants are not claimed by July 2, there will be a five-per-cent penalty.

Any outstanding payments not paid by Sept. 3, an additional five-per-cent penalty will be charged on the remaining tax amounts.

All property owners are responsible for property tax payments and applicable penalties, regardless of whether or not a tax notice is received.
