With less than one month left until July, it means it's almost time for the annual Steveston Salmon Festival.
The 77th annual Steveston Salmon Festival on July 1, or "Canada's biggest little birthday party," will kick off Canada Day celebrations with the Kids Bike Parade at 9:30 a.m., followed by the official parade from 10 a.m. to noon.
Attending foodies can enjoy the popular salmon bake, as well as a pancake breakfast and food trucks located throughout Steveston Village.
Two live music zones will provide live music performances from noon to 7 p.m., including a closing act by Canadian dance band Dr. Strangelove, and beloved roving entertainers such as jugglers and stilt walkers will roam around the village.
More highlights at the festival include the Japanese Cultural Show, an art show, a marketplace and trade show, as well as Sammy's Fun Zone and a Youth Zone for young Richmondites.
