Police are asking the public for help in tracking down assailants who carried out an unprovoked early morning attack on a man.

The 47-year-old victim was walking, en route to getting picked up for work, at around 4 a.m. when he felt someone approach him from behind.

Seconds later, he was struck on the face with a blunt object, knocking him to the ground.

He recalls seeing two men fleeing the scene on foot, southbound on No. 4 Road near to the intersection with Cambie Street.

On the morning of the attack Feb. 26 the victim remembers one of them wearing a toque that had horizontal stripes.

He also remembered people getting out of yellow taxicab nearby, just before the assault and police are hoping someone can identify the cabs occupants in the photos.

Anyone with information on the incident, or anyone that is able to identify the males in the photos, is asked to contact Const. Ryan Lee at 604 278 1212. If you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1 800 222 8477.
