The wandering goat in east Richmond was reunited with its owner Monday afternoon.
Jade McGregor, a Richmond resident, was able to return the lost goat with its owner after reaching out for help from the Richmond community.
McGregor contacted the owner after a friend got in touch with the Richmond RCMP dispatch team to see if a report was made about a missing goat.
"I got (the owner's) information from (the RCMP) and called him to say that I found his goat," said McGregor, adding that the owner was "very" excited when they received the call.
McGregor discovered the grey goat – with a brown collar – wandering the streets of east Richmond on Sunday evening and had it kept safely in a neighbour's backyard.
Prior to being caught, the goat was seen wandering along Westminster Highway, through a yard and onto River Road.
McGregor told the Richmond News that they had contacted RAPS, but was told to “try to find the owner” first on their own.
“I wanted to keep him in the neighbourhood for at least (the day) if he did belong to a Hamilton resident, as he’ll just need to be brought back anyways,” they added.
