A man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the homicide of a Richmond woman.

Solaris Onatta Running Dey, 23, has been charged the manslaughter of 19-year-old Aspen Pallot, who was found dead in the early hours of Thursday inside a home at the south-west corner of Westminster Highway and Minoru Boulevard.

A short time after her body was discovered by police, Dey was arrested. He was scheduled to appear in Richmond Provincial Court today.

“IHIT detectives worked quickly to secure the evidence for charge approval,” said Cpl. Frank Jang, of IHIT.

“Investigators would still like to speak with Miss Pallot’s closest friends and associates who may have information regarding her death.”

On Thursday afternoon, police tape still surrounded the older-style, detached home on the south-west corner of Westminster Highway and Minoru Boulevard where Pallot was found.

Anyone with information is asked to call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448), or by email at [email protected].
