The airport is expecting 100,000 more passengers this spring break than last year.

Vancouver International Airport is expecting 1.3 million passengers to pass through this spring break, a forecast of 100,000 more than spring break 2024.

This equates to an average of 76,000 passengers per day during the two-week break from Friday, March 14 to Sunday, March 30.

The busiest day is expected to be Friday, March 28, according to YVR.

Top travel destinations this spring break are Toronto, Los Angeles and Hong Kong.

The airport is increasing staff both in the terminal and along the curbs “to support travellers” and are drawing on digital tools to keep things running smoothly, a press release stated.

“We continue to leverage digital tools to enhance the travel experience—our Digital Twin allows us to monitor operations and deploy resources and adjust processes in real time.”

The airport now offers free 30-minute parking for anyone picking up passengers.
