Korean superstar Lee Min-Ho’s appearance in Richmond created quite a buzz on social media Monday afternoon.
Lee, who is starring in Pachinko, an international drama series by Apple TV, was spotted on set at Britannia Shipyard on March 15, according to a social media post.
In the video, he is seen wearing a black coat and surrounded by people believed to be the film crew and possibly other cast members.
This isn’t the first sighting of the superstar since he arrived in B.C.
Members of Lee’s fanclub, known as Minoz, have been constantly updating fans, reporting sighting of the Korean actor since he arrived in Vancouver on Feb. 25 -- and particularly since he finished his mandatory quarantine on March 10.
Some fans have been going to locations in hopes of catching a glimpse of him, while others have been recreating photos that Lee has posted on his Instagram account since he’s been in Metro Vancouver.
Pachinko is an eight-episode adaptation of the Min Jin Lee novel of the same name. The series follows four generations of a Korean immigrant family in Japan in the 20th century.
The drama series kicked off its production on Oct. 26 in South Korea and is now filming across Metro Vancouver. The series is being filmed in multiple countries and will be produced in multiple languages.
Late last year, Apple announced the cast members for the multilingual drama – to be told in Japanese, English and Korean – including Lee Min-ho, Jin Ha, Anna Sawai, Kim Min-ha, Soji Arai and Kaho Minami among others.
