Richmond soccer standout Summer Clarke has been invited to a nine-day training camp in Florida as Canada continues to prepare for the 2012 CONCACAF Women's U17 Championships.

Clarke helped the Richmond Red Hot Selects capture the U16 provincial cup this past summer and also was a member of the B.C. U16 team that won gold at the Western Canada Summer Games in Kamloops.

"The talent depth within this one age group is deeper than what we had in 2010 or 2008," said Bryan Rosenfeld, head coach of the Canadian U17 women's national team. "I believe we can credit that depth to the improvement in the quality of qualified coaches at the club level in women's football."
