An outstanding performance in Abbotsford last weekend has earned Panther Cheer's "Aftermath" team an invitation to Orlando for the 2017 USASF Cheerleading World Championships.

Panther Cheer Athletics is proud to announce their International Open All Girl Level 6 team — Aftermath — has earned a bid to the 2017 USASF Cheerleading World Championships for a second year in a row.
They received their bid to Worlds while competing at the CheerFest Championships last weekend in Abbotsford.  There are only two events in B.C. in which Canadian teams an earn a bid. The other competition is in early April.
The team will be headed south to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida from
April 29-May 1.  Everyone is guaranteed one routine performance with the hopes of making it to finals.
“This is gearing up to be one of the strongest years for B.C. Cheerleading
at the World Championships” said Panther Cheer co-owner Stephanie Kennedy.  “We are proud to be one of five B.C. teams that have earned the privilege to attend this prestigious International event.”
Although the U.S. has a large representation at the World Championship in many divisions, the Panther Cheer team will be competing alongside entries from 40 other countries in Central America, Asia, Europe and Australia.
“The determination this team has shown and the commitment of their coach,
Krista Gerlich-Fitzgerald has been outstanding. We are so proud to have each of them representing Panthers on the World stage,” added Panther Cheer-co-owner Dawn Silver.
Kennedy and Silver started the Richmond-based Panther Cheer Athletics 13 years ago because they passionately believe that all star cheerleading is a powerful vehicle through which their young athletes not only develop tremendous technical skill, but are also taught leadership skills through a comprehensive character development system.
Seeing their athletes grow into exceptional young adults is at the foundation of everything they do.
“It’s been quite amazing to see Panthers grow to the point it is today,” explained Silver. “We are trying to do more than just teach kids how to flip and tumble – we are building community leaders and extraordinary young people who are valuable team members.”
