13U Air Attack Black finished second at the recent regional championships in Burnaby, losing the final in a three-set thriller.

13U Air Attack Black will be taking momentum into the upcoming Provincial Championships in Abbotsford after finishing second at the regional playoffs.

The Richmond-based squad travelled to Burnaby where it knocked off top contenders BCO Volleyball Club and North Vancouver to finish on top of its pool group. The impressive run continued in the playoff round where Air Attack produced two more victories including a three-set thriller over a strong Thunder White team to secure a spot in the final.

The championship match also went the distance with Thunder Blue edging Air Attack 15-12 in the decisive set.

The team’s attack was led all weekend by the strong hitting of Caitlin Kippan and Marina Radocaj. Excellent defence was provided by Kristina Ngo, Scotia Chow and Isabella Villasenor. 

Other key contributors include: Paige Sever, Maya Zawislak, Nicola Sidhu, Maddie Tan-Ngo, Lindsay Lim, Madison Wong and Aliyah Chase.

Coached by Tanya Kippan, the girls will now prepare to take on B.C. best — May 4-5 at the Abbotsford Tradex Centre.
