A baseball team from Richmond is aiming to make the city proud in the final playoffs of the season.
The Richmond Red Sox will be going up against the Burnaby Pirates on Saturday morning in the finals for the Lower Mainland Baseball Association 45+ division.
The Red Sox is the only Richmond team left standing in the league playoffs, and coach Warren Oikawa describes them as “the best group” he has ever coached.
“I think we have a chance to win,” Oikawa told the Richmond News, adding that the players are disciplined.
“These guys play one game at a time, they are never overconfident.”
The finals will take place at Richmond’s Latrace Field on Sept. 16 at 10 a.m.
