Richmond wrestling kids returned home this month with five medals, including one gold, from the Washington State Championship.

Kids with Bhullar Wrestling Club competed in the Western Washington Kids Wrestling League State Championships on Feb. 2.

Quinton Sagum won first place in the U10 category, while Anand Bhullar, Chloe Chartier, Catarina Chartier and Yuvraj Purewal all placed second in the U8, U10, U14 and U14 categories, respectively.

Lorenzo Mezzacapo secured third in the U10 category of the championship.

"Our kids have been working hard all year to learn folkstyle, and their dedication showed at the Washington State Folkstyle Tournament," said Oscar Bulaqui, coach at Bhullar Wrestling Club.

"These athletes push each other every day at practice, and their hard work is paying off. They all have a bright future ahead of them in the sport. More importantly, they are outstanding individuals off the mats, and it is truly a pleasure to coach them."
