Ideal weather for 25th annual Thanksgiving Tournament

Fantastic early fall weather provided ideal conditions for the 25th annual Richmond Boys Soccer Thanksgiving Tournament.

Hosted by Richmond F.C., the two-day event attracted 108 teams and nearly 1,800 players to 20 grass and turf fields across the city. The host association more than held its own — winning three division titles and a pair of runner-up finishes.

U13 to U18 featured placement games, while the U11 to U12 portion of the tournament was a festival with no scores recorded.

Here’s a rundown of the division winners and runners-up:

U13 Bronze

Co-champions: Coastal F.C. Black and North Delta Gunners.

U13 Silver

Champion: Coquitlam Metro Ford Valencia. Runner-up: Whistler Sea 2 Sky Rapids.

U13 Gold

Champion: Coastal F.C. Royal. Runner-up: Vancouver United Fury.

U14 Silver

Champion: Whistler Sea 2 Sky United. Runner-up: North Delta Royals.

U14 Gold

Champion: Richmond F.C. Strikers. Runner-up: West Van Spuraways and Coastal F.C. Royal.

U14/U15 Bronze

Champion: Powell River Energy. Runner-up: WCAGFC Dragons.

U15 Silver

Champion: KLM Stealth. Runner-up: Richmond F.C. Lions.

U15 Gold

Champion: Cliff Ave. Diavolis. Runner-up: Western F.C. Galaxy.

U15 Gold

Champion: Richmond F.C. Rangers. Runner-up: Pinnacles (Penticton) F.C.
