Richmond’s Chris Crisologo won his first tournament of the season to lead the Simon Fraser University men’s golf team to third place at the Concordia University Invitational in Oregon this week.
Crisologo fired a final round 67 to climb from 12th at the start the day to grab medalist honours. The three-time NCAA All-American was second at the Western Washington Invitational two weeks ago after placing third in the first event of the year to open his senior season.
Crisologo had 11 birdies in the tournament, shooting rounds of 74, 72 and 67, to finish even par 213. He was three strokes better than Isaac Hall of Concordia.
Meanwhile, University of Colorado freshman Alisha Lau was close to home as she continued an impressive start to her collegiate career.
The Burnett Secondary graduate and one-time Quilchena junior fired rounds of 76-78-74 to help the Buffaloes finish second behind host University of Washington at Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, held at the renowned Sahalee Country Club.
The Buffaloes set new school scoring record in a win at the Coeur D’Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational in Idaho the previous week. Lau recorded rounds of 77-68-72. Colorado finished with an 18-under total to top 17 other schools.
