AC Richmond is the lone team carrying the Richmond Adult Soccer Association banner into the quarter-finals of the Keith Miller Provincial “B” Cup playdowns.
The RASA regular season champions advanced to the Elite Eight with a 4-1 win over the South Burnaby Fighting Irish under the lights at Minoru Park last Friday night. The result moves AC Richmond onto Burnaby Lakes West Saturday afternoon to take on Campo Atletico. The Vancouver Metro Soccer League Second Division side advanced with a 5-1 win over perennial RASA power Richmond All Blacks.
Meanwhile, Richmond FC is set to get to work in the women’s Provincial “A” Cup championships. After earning a first round bye thanks to a stellar campaign in the Metro Women’s Soccer League premier division, Richmond will host Abbotsford United on Saturday at 2 p.m.
All seven Provincial Cup finals will take place in Victoria May 14-15.
