A Richmond Grade 9 basketball team just won the South Fraser Championships.
Steveston-London secondary's (SLSS) girls basketball team, the Sharks, claimed first place in the South Fraser region on Thursday evening.
The Sharks beat Frank Hurt secondary 50-31 in the championship game.
Steveston-London's Grade 9 girls' basketball team earned a spot to compete in the provincial championships at the end of February.
The Provincial Basketball Championship will take place at the Langley Events Centre, hosted by BC School Sports, from Feb. 26 to March 1.
