The defending Pacific International Junior Hockey League champions continued their amazing start to the season by winning for the 19th time in 20 games, a decisive 5-1 triumph over the Delta Ice Hawks on Tuesday night in Ladner.

The victory was the Sockeyes third in as many games against the Ice Hawks and opened up a commanding 10 point lead over their cross-river rivals for top spot in the Tom Shaw Conference.

A pair of goals from Rudi Thorsteinson and another from Troy Kaczynski gave the visitors a commanding 3-0 first period lead. Kyzen Loo and Scott Wessa also scored, while goalie Jonah Imoo was solid in making 32 saves.
