A collision involving an unmarked police cruiser has shut down the intersection at Francis and Gilbert roads until further notice.
The collision, which occured around 7:30 a.m. Thursday, involved the unmarked cruiser and two other cars, one of which rolled several times before crashing through fencing at a construction site, according to a witness at the scene.
The other car suffered "extensive rear end damage," said the witness, who added that at least one person was taken to hospital.
Richmond RCMP are on scene.
The intersection is closed in all four directions, and it's not known if police were in pursuit of a vehicle.
The Richmond News has reached out to Richmond RCMP and B.C. Emergency Health Services for more information.
