Letters: Richmond veterans venue shuts down kitchen

Kitchen closure means minors won't be allowed at ANAF.

Dear Editor,

Re: "Steveston's vets club is not just for grandpas, grandmas"

Very nice article on the Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans in Canada Unit 284 (ANAF 284). Unfortunately, there was some misinformation in it.

I have been a 10-year member of ANAF and recently received an email that the "full service kitchen," which was mentioned in the article, will be closed as of July 20.

As a member, I am not sure who made this decision as it was not presented to the membership.

Due to the ANAF's liquor permit, minors are not allowed into the ANAF when the kitchen is closed....which translates into no minors will be allowed into the ANAF at all.

That knocks out a whole lot of people attending any function.

So much for the sign at the front door "Everyone Welcome."
