Dear Editor,
Much has been written about car noises and busy parking lots lately. How about residential construction areas?
There is a monster house being built in our neighbourhood and for the past (almost two years) we have been subjected to trucks/cars blocking our narrow street, making it a nightmare to pull in/out of our driveway.
They park wherever they want; thus, destroying our lawns.
The City has allowed us to use plastic cones as a solution. But these construction workers disrespect our neighbourhood.
They do as they please, block our streets with complete disregard for the residents, put their materials so close to the street, we have to dodge them as we drive and walk.
We have complained to the City and all the city has done is create a file. Bylaw officers are sent but as soon as they leave the premises, everything goes back to the way it was before.
So we don’t exactly know who is in charge here and why the City isn’t doing more to ensure that our streets and neighbourhoods are livable to all and not a constant nightmare.
