Richmond Hospital received a gift of 17,500 face masks, 1,150 pieces of personal protective equipment and a cheque of $8,000 late last week from three Chinese friendship associations, the Canadian Alliance of Chinese Association (CACA), Canadian Federation of Sichuan Association and Canada Shandong Chinese Business Association.

Yong Tao Chen, the acting chairman of CACA, said these masks and other protective gear meet quality standards set by the Richmond Hospital Foundation and they hope their act of kindness and support could empower health-care workers to go a long way.
