The Hunan Fellow Association of Vancouver raised $20,800 for Richmond Hospital's future Medical Imaging Centre.
A fundraising dinner was held by the association in April to contribute to the hospital's plan of purchasing the newest imaging technologies for its doctors and staff.
“Consider making a gift towards the new Medical Imaging Centre at Richmond Hospital,” said Coco Luo, president of the Hunan Fellow Association."
"Doctors rely on medical imaging to assess their patients. With community support, we can give them access to the most advanced imaging technologies to provide everyone in the community with the best possible care.”
The new Medical Imaging Centre will be at the heart of the future Yurkovich Family Pavilion, the new acute care tower, which will be home to an increased number of inpatient beds and an expanded surgical centre. The imaging centre will be built to accommodate more than 200,000 visits per year, compared to just over 115,000 visits today.
In 2020, the Hunan Fellow Association also raised over $20,000 to help with the hospital's COVID-19 Response Fund.
“We’re so pleased to have the generous support of the Hunan Fellow Association of Vancouver,” said Natalie Meixner, president and CEO of Richmond Hospital Foundation.
“Their donation will help ensure more patients have access to medical imaging services faster and are treated in the most efficient manner. Thank you for helping us enhance Richmond Hospital’s new Medical Imaging Centre which will serve the community for years to come.”
