A fundraiser was held to support the staff at Steveston's Super Grocer after a tragic fire tore through it in January.
Steveston Sound & Stage partnered with Steveston United Church for the fundraiser and community day, which raised $8,600 on March 2.
Music performances, Cartoon Katie and a silent auction were held during the event.
Alex Sagert, organizer and owner of Steveston Sound & Stage, said donations will be split evenly with Super Grocer staff.
"A few employees came by and were extremely touched that the community came out to support in such a big way," said Sagert.
"The place was packed all day with people dropping by throughout the day to enjoy the amazing entertainment."
He added Steveston Seafood House also had a gift card fundraiser where 50 per cent of gift cards sold would go to its business' employees as they were also impacted by the Super Grocer fire.
The Steveston Super Grocer has yet to be fully demolished and cleaned up as of Tuesday evening.
According to the business' website, they are still having meat sales at #110-3651 Moncton St. while its pharmacy is operating out of #160-8100 Ackroyd Rd.
Investigation for the cause of the fire is still ongoing, but Super Grocer is looking to rebuild in the future.
