After two months of submissions, the Richmond street banner contest is now open for the public to vote for their favourite design to fly high in the city streets.

Richmond residents can vote for their favourite designs on the City of Richmond’s Facebook page from Oct. 22 until Nov. 1 at 5 p.m.

Winners of the contest will see their featured designs installed around Richmond from March 2020 to February 2021.

Over 1,000 street banners will highlight 10 winning designs – one from each theme.

Themes for this year’s submissions are:

  • Connection
  • The Arts
  • Heritage
  • Community
  • Active Living
  • Sustainability
  • Nature
  • City Centre
  • Island City
  • Culture

Also, all street banner submissions will be on display at the Minoru Centre for Active Living from Nov. 5 to Dec. 3.

Richmond’s Street Banner Contest is a part of the broader Partners for Beautification Program, which invites community members to become actively involved in the beautification of their city.
